Ric Jonas Memorial Foundation

The Ric Jonas Memorial Foundation was created to honor the life of Richard Jonas - a man who touched countless lives with his generosity, kindness, and enthusiasm. His lust for life was evident in many ways, but especially in sports. Ric was an avid fan and participant in many sporting events.

His love of skiing, running, golf, and tennis drove our decision to start this foundation. Our hope is to provide the opportunity for children to experience the same love of sports that Ric had by involving them in activities they would otherwise not have access to. Grants will be distributed to chosen applicants, allowing them to attend a sports related camp. The foundation will provide all necessary equipment for the camp, along with tuition and expenses.

To initially fund the foundation, the family provided a gift. Our goal is to raise enough money through our charitable golf tournament, held annually in August, to sustain the foundation going forward.

2009 Scholarship

Our 2009 scholarship applicaitons are now available! We have added a second scholarship option this year. In addition to the UWEC sports camp, we are also offering a scholarship to cover all assocaited participation and equipment fees for one sport at any of the three Eau Claire high schools.
