Overview We are offering two scholarship options for 2009.
UWEC Sports Camp Scholarship This scholarship is intended to provide tuition and any expenses related to room and board to the recipient for the camp of their choosing from our approved list. Grants will be distributed to chosen applicants, allowing them to attend a sports related camp. The foundation will seek to provide all necessary equipment for the camp, along with tuition and expenses.
Eau Claire High School Athletics Scholarship This scholarship is intended to cover all applicable participation and equipment feeds for one sport at Eau Claire Memorial, Eau Claire North or Eau Claire Regis high school during the 2009-2010 school year.
Eligibility The award of this scholarship is dependent on several factors including:
Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, disability, sexual orientation or national origin.
Application Interested students must complete the application, essay requirement, and supporting documentation and mail them to the address listed below. Applicants are responsible for gathering and submitting all necessary information. Applications are evaluated on the information supplied; therefore, answer all questions as completely as possible. Incomplete applications will not be evaluated.
Once an application is submitted to the Ric Jonas Memorial Foundation, no additional information or changes to the application will be accepted.
Applications can be obtained in the following ways:
Deadline The deadline for the UWEC sports camp application is April 30th, 2009. All applications must be postmarked by that date to be considered.
The deadline for Eau Claire high school athletics application is June 30th, 2009. All applications must be postmarked by that date to be considered.
Selection of Recipient Scholarship recipients are selected on a number of criteria, including academic record, scholarship essay, potential to succeed, leadership and participation in community activities, honors, work experience, and a statement of educational and career goals.
Financial need as calculated by the Ric Jonas Memorial Foundation must be demonstrated by the applicant’s parent(s) or guardian(s) to receive an award.
Selection of the scholarship recipient is made by the Ric Jonas Memorial Foundation board of directors. All decisions by the Ric Jonas Memorial Foundation board of directors are final.
Applicants are eligible to receive a one-time award of a scholarship. However applicants not chosen to receive a scholarship may re-apply for the award the following year provided they meet eligibility requirements.
Payment of Scholarship The Ric Jonas Memorial Foundation will assist in the completion of camp or athletic registration documents and pay the tuition and room and board expenses directly to the camp or high school of behalf of the recipient. Any camp waivers are the responsibility of the parent or legal guardian.
Miscellaneous The Ric Jonas Memorial Foundation reserves the right to review any and all portions of this scholarship program at any time and make changes as we deem necessary or appropriate, including termination of the program. Void where prohibited. This program is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.
